Voices from the list

“Voices from the list” is a documentary inside the movie (Schinder's list) about the Jews in the Second World War pursued by the Nazis.
Some survivors of the Holocaust tell their stories of how they did it. They were saved by Oskar Schindler, a visionary business man. With his good soul he saved more than 1,200 lifes!
“Voices from the list” gives to his viewers other vision of the II World War which an alleged member of Nazi party helps Jews. A very unusual situation in those days.

The film images were obtained by the USC Shoah Foundation that interviewed the survivors in the 90’s.

We liked a lot of this documentary. The most of people have no idea about the situations faced by the Jews in the War, like torture, bloody deaths, gas chambers, slave labor etc. The film shows us the real face of the Nazi ideology with its racial separation.

We think that when we separate people by race we are already being racist, because automatically we put one race above the other. We think that in our world there can be only one race: the human race. We are all equal, but with our little peculiarities.

This is a great movie that show to the people that one person can really make difference!

Relationships in the Internet

The internet give many advantages to society(...)

But, and about the relationships? The use of internet is positive or negative ? As everythings, the internet hava the positive and negative points
Firstly lets go to talk about the negative points: with the internet many people lost the real contact of the person, talk just virtual way. In fact, became commun to say "I love you" in the same day that you know someone.Moreover is so dangerous know people on chats.

Now, the positive points. The internet facilites the comunication with a friend who lives far, for example. With the internet you can talk with the person not only you can see the person and the virtual contact make you miss the person so increases the desire to see the person.

So the internet can be good or not to the relationships, jus depend on you.

Brazilian Culture!

Hi! we have chosen another topic to talk about in our blog! Brazilian culture is a theme that is always present! It’s very difficult to talk about it because Brazilian culture is very diverse, so we’ll present to you some interesting points of some parts of Brazil!

We are going to talk in particular about some cultural aspects of the northeastern and southern of Brazil!
First, as we had spoken before, we'll talk about northeastern culture! we will point the music, dance and cooking.

In music, we can point a few paces as xaxado, forró, axé, and Frevo, and these rhythms are very typical of the region! In dance, beyond the rhythms mentioned before we include also some folk dances representing the cultural heritage, and are very nice!

Now, as we had said, we're going to talk about southern culture!

The north and south were chosen because they are very different!

We’ll point, again, cooking and dancing!

The Southern culture is very rich and varied, it received influences of many people as Italians, Germans and Poles ...
In cooking, there are mainly two things that should be pointed; the famous southern meat and also the “chimarrão” that is typical of the south and is not very common anywhere else in Brazil!

In the dance, we'll point the names of some dances and typical presentations. The dancing is very different from the north, and are very traditional! some names are Pau-de-tapes, and Balainha Fandango!

Now, we will going to talk about the iPad, the new release of Apple ! In just two months, 2 millions unit sold in USA.It arrived in nine countries.But maybe the iPad don't arrive to Brazil in 2010 because of a dispute by the brand's name here. It sold from $ 499 dollars.The iPad is a tablet between the iPhone and the smartphone. It is efficient, easy to handle and is very elegant. The size of the display easier to read (about 20x24 cm) and the weight facilitates transport (just 680 g). IPad is more sensitive to the touch than iPhone.product that combines computer, video games, music and video player and digital book was presented by the founder-
Steve Jobs- as "magic" and "revolutionary".

Minas Gerais's Progressive Rock

Belo Horizonte is the capital of the genuine rock in Brazil.

Do you now??

Since the 70's Minas Gerais is the one of the best places to play rock in Brazil!

Names like 14 Bis,Hocus Pocus,Marco Antônio Araújo and Uakti had made a lot of success in this decade.

But,in a style,Belo Horizonte is the best...Progressive Rock!!!

The Progressive Rock is a genre of rock that mixes some styles,like Blues,Country,Folk,Classical,Jazz and world music.

One of the first ones is the group Saecula Saeculorum,formed for the violinist Marcus Viana.

Following this line we have the band Sagrado Coração da Terra that made a singular song with violins,flutes and nature songs,formed by the same Marcus Viana.

But,the focus of our article are the actual bands...

Actually the band Cartoon(formed in 1995) mixes rock,indian music,blues,country,folk, jazz and makes a great song.The band is "known" by tell histories,like the history of the "King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table" in this second album,Bigorna.



The group Somba says that is the first jam band of Brazil. Jam Band are musical groups whose albums and live performances relate to a fan culture that originated with the 1960's.They says that they are unexpected,mixing Clube da Esquina,Rock and Progressive Rock..




And finally,we have the exceptional band Cálix formed in 1996 that mixes folk,blues,classic,MPB,rock played with guitar,eletric guitar,transversal flute and mandolin,orchestra and great musicians..
